Ian Berry is recognized around the world for his unique application, creating complex and widely-adored ‘paintings’ with upcycled denim. Even up close, viewers are surprised to learn they are not looking at a photograph or painting, instead that Ian’s works are intricately crafted with layers of carefully placed denim.

Denim Legends is a star-studded collective of portraits, which explores and celebrates the iconic faces that made denim what it is today.

Ian Berry’s Denim Legend portraits are some of the first all-fabric artworks that Arius has digitized and transformed into an edition of Elegraph™ Prints and NFTs.

Designed to be installed as a star-studded collective, Ian is working with Arius to celebrate individual denim icons with original editions of Elegraph™ Prints. Working closely with Arius’ team of Art Production Specialists in the alta™ Studio, Ian has expanded his installation into an offering of collectible prints and NFTs. Blending analog and digital creation, Ian handpicked a denim sheets to be scanned and digitized into a backdrop for each of his Denim Legend portraits. Using the same Art Digital Master File (ADMF™) data, we created matching Elegraph-D NFT artworks, which will accompany the first of each print.

These special prints will also feature a hidden inscription of the NFT Token. Printed only into the elevated texture of the print, it will seamlessly camouflage with the colour and be detectable by touch.

We’re providing the world’s first opportunity to celebrate Denim Legends of the past, with ‘phygital’ art experiences of tomorrow.
